Short answer: Both are three-row midsize luxury SUVs, but they start in different places. Every 2027 Lincoln Aviator comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 rated at up to 400 hp and 415 lb-ft, tows up to 5,000 lb when properly equipped, and includes BlueCruise hands-free highway driving with four years included, per Lincoln. The 2027 Genesis GV80 starts with a 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder (up to 300 hp), offers a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 (up to 375 hp), and has a standard third row on every trim except Prestige Black, per Genesis. Genesis lists longer factory warranties. Lincoln gives you more standard power, hands-free driving and Lincoln Pickup & Delivery for service.

Lincoln figures from lincoln.com’s 2027 Aviator page. Lincoln’s 2026 Aviator page lists 383 hp and 415 lb-ft, and says seating is six with standard second-row captain’s chairs or seven with the available bench. Genesis figures from genesis.com’s 2027 GV80 page. Warranty and maintenance terms are set by each automaker; see their sites for complete terms. Towing varies with cargo, configuration and passengers.
What the differences mean on Las Vegas roads
Power at the bottom of the lineup. If you’re merging onto the 215 or climbing toward Mount Charleston with a full third row, the Aviator’s base engine is the V6. On the GV80 the V6 is a step-up option, and the base engine is the 2.5L four.
Hands-free highway time. Lincoln includes BlueCruise on the Aviator with four years included. Lincoln says it runs hands-free on 97% of controlled-access highways in the U.S. and Canada, in mapped “Blue Zones.” On the drive to Los Angeles or Utah, that’s a big part of the trip. Genesis lists Highway Driving Assist 2 for the GV80. Genesis’s GV80 page doesn’t call it hands-free, so test both on I-15 before you decide.
Towing to the lake. Lincoln rates every Aviator trim at up to 5,000 lb when properly equipped, which covers many small boats and personal-watercraft trailers headed to Lake Mead or Lake Mohave. Genesis’s GV80 model page doesn’t publish a towing figure, so ask Genesis for the rating if you plan to tow.
Who rides in back. Genesis puts a third row in every GV80 except Prestige Black, which seats five. On the Aviator, the PowerFold third row folds flat at the press of a button, and you choose six seats (captain’s chairs) or seven.
Warranty vs. convenience. Genesis’s published warranties run longer, and it includes three years of scheduled maintenance. Lincoln counters with Pickup & Delivery: Lincoln picks the Aviator up for service and leaves a loaner. That saves you a trip during a 110-degree July afternoon. Weigh which one you’ll actually use.
The Aviators at Team Lincoln (as of October 26, 2026)
We listed 25 new Aviators: 16 in stock, 5 in transit and 4 in production. By model year that’s 11 × 2027, 11 × 2026 and 3 × 2025, across Premiere, Reserve and Black Label. Reserve is the deepest trim on the lot. That mix lets you compare a 2026 and a 2027 back to back. Check the sticker on the exact unit, because lincoln.com lists 400 hp for 2027 and 383 hp for 2026.

How to cross-shop fairly
- Drive both on the same day on the same roads: a freeway merge, a stretch of I-15 and a parking garage.
- Sit in the third row yourself. Seat count on paper isn’t the same as adult comfort.
- Match the drivetrain. Compare an AWD Aviator with an AWD GV80 if you head to the mountains in winter.
- Get the published warranty and service terms in writing from each brand, and ask how service pickup works where you live.
- Bring your trade. Team Lincoln can appraise it during the same visit. Contact us to set a time.
